Congress and U.S. Steel Industry Pressure USTR about Chinese Steel

At an agency hearing held April 13, members of Congress and union leadership pushed the USTR to increase its efforts to remedy the injury to the U.S. steel industry by asking the ITC to initiate AD/CVD investigations. This would expedite these proceedings, which the ITC initiates at the behest of private companies.

Leo Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers union, called upon President Obama to more directly involve himself in the initiation of AD proceedings.
