CPSC Gets Access to CBP's ACS for Import Targeting

Recently, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding CBP’s Import Safety Commercial Targeting and Analysis Center (CTAC). Under the MOU, the CPSC will now be able to conduct import safety risk assessments and perform targeting work using CBP’s Automated Commercial System (ACS).

According to CBP Commissioner Alan Bersin, “With this [MOU], CBP and the CPSC will be able to further protect consumers against the importation of dangerous goods into the U.S.
