China Lifts 13-Year-Old Mad-Cow Beef Ban on U.S. Imports

The Chinese Agriculture Ministry announced that it is lifting its nearly 13-year-old ban on U.S. beef from cattle less than 30-months-old. This prohibition came in response to a few notable diagnoses of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, commonly known as “mad cow disease”, in U.S. cattle.
