USTR Initiates First Phase of U.S.–E.C Beef Hormones Deal, Requests Comments

The Office of the United States Trade Representative published a notice today regarding the implementation of the first phase of
Modifications to the list of products and countries subject to additional duties in connection to the dispute were scheduled to go into effect August 15, 2009. However, rather than cancel these modifications, as called for in the MOU, today’s notice delay’s any action for roughly one month, to September 19, 2009.
In the meantime, USTR is planning to take additional steps in order to continue implementing
