New Petition Requesting AD/CV Duties against Prestressed Concreted Steel Wire Strand from China Filed at U.S. Department of Commerce

May 27, 2009

On May 27, 2009, a petition was filed at the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) alleging that prestressed concrete steel wire strand (PC strand) from the People’s Republic of China is being dumped in the U.S. market. An affirmative dumping determination by the DOC could result in the establishment hefty antidumping and countervailing duties (ADD/CVD) against PC strand from China.

U.S. importers and Chinese producers can minimize disruptions to their current sourcing practices by voluntarily participating in the ADD/CVD investigation which may lead to lower ADD/CVD duties being assessed against them.   For more information about the petition contact a Barnes/Richardson attorney, or click here to view a fact sheet detailing the goods covered.
