EU Places Six Substances on REACH List
TweetFebruary 23, 2011
On February 17, 2011 the European Commission issued Commission Regulation No. 143/2011, amending Annex XIV under the European Union’s REACH regulation (No. 1907/2006) to include six substances. These six substances, listed in the following chart, are banned from the EU market and from use in the EU without specific authorization after their respective “sunset dates,” which are set between 2014 and 2015. Exclusions under REACH have already been granted for three of the substances when used in the immediate packaging of medicinal products. Authorization applications for the use of listed chemicals should be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
