Shama K. Patari Named Partner in Chicago Office

We are pleased to announce that Shama K. Patari of the Chicago office has become a partner in the firm. 

Shama joined the firm as an associate in 2008. Her practice focuses on advising foreign and domestic companies on all aspects of international trade regulation, planning and compliance, including customs, export controls, economic sanctions, embargoes, international trade agreements and preference programs.

Shama is actively involved with the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, where she serves as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Committee. She has also served as chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Customs U.S. International Trade Law Committee and as vice president of the Organization of Women in International Trade. She is also a vice chair of programs for the Customs Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law.

Shama is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the John Marshall Law School (JD and LL.M.). She speaks English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
