Customs Disburses $264 Million in Byrd Funds for 2007

On Monday, December 10, 2007 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that in fiscal year 2007, $264 million had been paid out in antidumping and countervailing duties to U.S. Industries that petitioned the federal government.  Over the fiscal year 2007, CBP processed over 14,000 claims.

Under the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000 (CDSOA), also known as the Byrd Amendment, CBP is required to disburse antidumping and countervailing duties to domestic producers injured by foreign dumping and subsidies.
