U.S. Nominates Sandra L. Bell for WCO Director

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is pleased to announce the nomination of Ms. Sandra L. Bell for the post of Director, Compliance and Facilitation for the World Customs Organization.

Ms. Bell, a member of the Senior Executive Service within the U.S. Government, is currently Executive Director for Regulations and Rulings within CBP’s Office of International Trade. She has 31 years of experience in her field.

During the course of her employment with CBP and its predecessor agency, the U.S. Customs Service, Ms. Bell consistently demonstrated her personal commitment to implementing the pillars of the SAFE Framework and ensuring that the balance among cargo security, trade facilitation, and enforcement is well maintained.

The United States firmly believes that our most valuable contribution to the WCO is the promotion of international trade, commercial security, and customs harmonization. Due to her extensive experience and superior qualifications, Ms. Bell is uniquely suited to help lead the WCO in the evolution of customs administrations in the 21st century.
