President Obama Nominates International Trade Commissioner and Board Member for Export-Import Bank

On Thursday, April 7, 2011, President Obama announced his intention to nominate David S. Johanson as a member of the International Trade Commission and Sean Robert Mulvaney as a member of the board of directors for the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

 

David S. Johanson has served as International Trade Counsel on the Republican staff of the Committee on Finance of the United States Senate since 2003. He previously worked for Representatives George Radanivich and Wally Herger, as well as Senator Phil Gramm. Mr. Johanson’s prior experience also includes practicing in Washington, D.C. based international trade law firm and publishing a variety of journal articles on international trade law. Mr. Johanson’s academic credentials include a B.A. degree from Stanford University, a M.Phil. degree from Cambridge University, and a J.D. degree from the University of Texas.

Sean Robert Mulvaney currently serves as director of the Economic Policy Program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He previously served as assistant administrator for management at the U.S. Agency for International Development and as a staff member in a variety of trade-related positions in the U.S. House of Representatives. Mulvany also spent three years working in brand management for a major pharmaceutical company. Mr. Mulvaney’s academic credentials include a B.A.S. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters in International Management from the American Graduate School of Global Management.
