GSP Set to Expire in Three Months
TweetMay 15, 2013
Without congressional action, the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program will expire on July 31st, 2013. Last renewed in October 2011, GSP eliminates duties on certain goods imported from designated Beneficiary Developing Countries. Without reauthorization, these duties will go into effect on August 1, 2013. Although Congress has not yet introduced legislation to renew GSP, there is still the opportunity to renew the program before its expiration.
