CBP Changes Review Requirements for DCMA Entries

July 23, 2013

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently modified the review requirements for goods receiving duty free treatment under HTS subheading 9808.00.30.  Previously, CBP required each of these entries to be certified to the Commissioner of Customs as articles for military departments.

Effective July 15, 2013, CBP has reduced the 100% review requirement.  Instead, after receiving an entry, CBP will respond with a note that says documentation must be retained by the importer and available to CBP upon request.  This update applies only to 9808 goods intended for a military contractor and does not apply to P99 entries.
