Mexico to Impose Retaliatory Tuna Tariffs, Despite U.S. Regulatory Changes

March 23 – The Mexican government announced its intent to continue its WTO proceedings against the U.S., even though American tuna labeling regulations were modified in an attempt to comply with prior WTO rulings.

Although Mexican officials had not “made a complete analysis” of the regulatory changes, they cited the necessary delay in implementing these changes as a rationale for their choice to continue the arbitration process.
