U.S. Steel Asks for General Exclusion Order on Chinese Steel

April 28, 2016

April 26, 2016—U.S. Steel filed a section 337 complaint with the USITC requesting a general exclusion order on imported carbon and alloy steel products from China, citing unfair practices, such as “price fixing and other collusion, the hacking of U.S. Steel’s computers to steal trade secrets, and the false designation of origin and manufacturer.”

The USITC has yet to decide whether to initiate the investigation and, in a forthcoming Federal Register notice, will solicit public comment.
