EU and U.S. Finalize Data Transfer Pact

After two years of negotiation, the European Commission and the United States signed a new ‘Privacy Shield’ Data Transfer Pact. The new pact will enforce more stringent obligations upon companies to protect European consumers’ private information.

Companies will be able to certify compliance with the new pact and utilize the new framework by August 1.
