BRC partner Matthew McGrath presented a discussion of the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations of steel fasteners from China and Taiwan, at the FastenerWest conference in Las Vegas on November 16, 2009. BRC represented the importers of such fasteners challenging the petition filed by Nucor Fasteners. The investigations were terminated in the preliminary injury determination by the US International Trade Commission, by a vote of 6-0. The presentation covered common questions about the fastener investigation and trade remedies cases, as well as possible appeal or re-filing of the petition and preparatory steps that can be taken by importers, foreign producers, and trading companies.
