Barnes/Richardson Economist Quoted on Citrus Industry Developments

August 27, 2012

On August 24, 2012, The Lakeland Ledger reported on developments in the US and international markets for orange juice.  Economist Amy Warlick of Barnes, Richardson & Colburn noted that, although not-from-concentrate juice sales have recovered slightly in the US market, “reconstituted OJ sales need to recover before growers can be confident of a robust revival.”  Brazilian stocks have grown dramatically in the past year, and futures prices have declined by 40% in the last four months.  Warlick was an expert witness in support of the US citrus industry in the antidumping investigation of Orange juice From Brazil.
