Barnes/Richardson Partner to Speak at Upcoming Trade and Transportation Events

September 10, 2012

Lawrence M. Friedman, a Partner in Barnes, Richardson & Colburn’s Chicago office, is scheduled to speak at two upcoming events. On September 28, 2012, Friedman will discuss the U.S. Canada Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness Plan at the 2012 Canadian Transportation Lawyers Association (CTLA) Annual Conference in Toronto. President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper unveiled the plan last December, with the goal of tightening border security, making travel and trade more efficient and aligning U.S. and Canadian regulations. The CTLA Conference is three-day event that brings together experts from across the United States, Canada and Mexico to analyze complex issues confronting the transportation industry.

Friedman will also be speaking at the Milwaukee World Trade Association’s International Business Series on October 4, 2012, where he will address issues involving compliance with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
