Federal Government Funding Lapse Approaches

Unless Congress comes to an agreement in the next 45 days, the government faces the prospect of another shutdown in January, closing the doors of many agencies critical to international trade.  The bipartisan bill signed by President Obama to end the October government shutdown extends federal funding until January 15th and raises the debt limited until February 7th.  After mid-January, the government could endure a repeat of the October shutdown.
