May 5, 2008
Canada recently adopted a new rule relating to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) status of goods produced through disassembly. Pursuant to this new rule, Canada will now consider the processes listed in the NAFTA definition of "production" to include disassembly, in addition to growing, mining, harvesting, fishing, trapping, hunting, manufacturing, processing or assembling of a good. Additional details on this new rule may be obtained here.
